Humansdorp Museum Association is presently involved with both the Shell Museum (in Jeffrey's Bay) as well as the Humansdorp Museum and although the museums are quite different the following quote apply to both:

Die doelstelling van die Humansdorp Museumvereniging is om eerstens by die Humansdorp Museum die kultuur historiese erfenis van Humansdorp en omgewing te bewaar deur:

1. Die bewaring van artifakte van kultuur historiese belang
2. Om die bewaring van kultuurgoedere te bevorder deur die aanbied van opvoedkundige programme, doelgerigte kommunikasie met die publiek en ge-identifiseerde teikengroepe
3. Om navorsing te inisieer, te fasiliteer en te ondersteun.

A cultural history museum, focuses on the growth and development of Humansdorp through its display of farming implements, bottles, clothing and crockery.

Tweedens is die doelstelling om skulpe te bewaar wat aan die Jeffrey'sbaai kus en ook op ander plekke voorkom en aan die publiek bekend te stel.
